The Buccaneers training camp has been full of surprises. Young players have stepped up and veterans could turn back the clock in 2018.
As the Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp continues, optimism has returned to the organization.
There’s a different feeling at One Buc Place in 2018, the new-look defense has impressed and strong quarterback play has rejuvenated the Bucs faithful.
As both units come off a successful preseason opener, a few surprising headlines have surfaced throughout the team’s practices. Veterans look poised for a career rejuvenation and a few fringe players have made names for themselves.
The rookie class has also been exceeding expectations. It’s far too early to tell if general manager Jason Licht built a successful Draft class but early returns have been positive.
While there is still plenty of work to be done and positions to be settled through the rest of the month, here are the biggest surprises so far in Tampa Bay’s training camp.
