5 defensive tackles the Vikings could select in the 2019 NFL Draft

The 2019 NFL Draft is loaded with game-changing defensive tackles and the Minnesota Vikings could look to add another weapon to an already talented defensive line.

One of the biggest losses this offseason for the Minnesota Vikings was the departure of Sheldon Richardson to free agency. While the Vikings did manage to bring Shamar Stephen back, it will most likely be a small step backward when it comes to the defensive tackle spot next season.

The good news is that the 2019 draft class is loaded with defensive lineman. So while Minnesota might not be looking for a first-round defensive tackle, they could have their eyes on a mid-round guy.

As of now, the defensive tackles for the Vikings consist of Stephen, Linval Joseph, Jalyn Holmes, Jaleel Johnson, and Curtis Cothran. Everyone already knows what Minnesota has in Joseph and Stephen. But after that, it becomes a little bit of a mystery.

Johnson has yet to live up to his fourth-round selection and Holmes didn’t get many opportunities as a rookie in 2018. So to say the Vikings are set at defensive tackle might be a...
