Pass rush is arguably the San Francisco 49ers’ biggest need on defense for the 2018 NFL Draft. Niner Noise looks at five EDGE prospects that can breathe new life into the defensive line.


The San Francisco 49ers defense under defensive coordinator Robert Saleh was incredibly frustrating to watch last season on passing downs.

The defensive line, which includes three first-round picks, just could not get to opposing quarterbacks, who were always relaxing in the pocket like they were enjoying watching the sun set in Hawaii while sipping a piña colada.

So yeah, this can’t go on. There can be no more piña coladas for opposing quarterbacks. The 49ers should invest in an edge rusher in the draft to give the pass rush new life.
