The University of Alabama held their pro day on Wednesday and the Pittsburgh Steelers were in full attendance. According to NFL Network reporter Kimberly Jones, head coach Mike Tomlin, as well as general manager Kevin Colbert, are in attendance.
There are multiple players the Steelers could target. Safety Ronnie Harrison, as well as linebacker Rashaan Evans, are elite prospects that could fall to No. 28. They would both fill immediate needs on the defensive side of the football.
But beyond those two, guys like defensive tackle Da’Ron Payne or cornerback Anthony Averett could be targets for Pittsburgh outside of the first round. Alabama always goes deep on draft prospects at 2018 is no different. On offense, running back Bo Scarbrough is a potential mid-round selection for Pittsburgh.
The Steelers do have an inside source on the Crimson Tide prospects. New defensive line coach Karl Dunbar has spent the last two seasons coaching their defensive line. The Steelers don’t have much history with drafting Alabama prospects but that could definitely change this year.
