Report: Josh McDaniels poaches Patriots QB coach for Colts
/ Patriots

Josh McDaniels is bringing Jerry Schuplinski with him to Indianapolis, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Schuplinski is currently the Patriots assistant quarterback coach.

With so much brain power leaving the building, that leaves Bill Belichick with just one internal candidate for the offensive coordinator position: Chad O’Shea. He was likely the favorite from the start, though Schuplinski’s departure seems to rid them of internal options.

Schuplinski has spent five seasons with the Patriots with three years as an assistant coach and two years as the assistant quarterback coach. He was in the position for the 2016 season when Tom Brady, Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett each got starts and each got at least one win.
