The Philadelphia Eagles have reportedly traded for Seattle Seahawks defensive end, Michael Bennett.
The Philadelphia Eagles crazy offseason has officially begun. Although we didn’t expect much in the battle of free agents, we can still count on Howie Roseman to make things interesting. It was announced on Wednesday that the Eagles have engaged in some trade talks with the Seattle Seahawks for a player and some draft assets.
The rumored deal has the Eagles acquiring veteran defensive end Michael Bennett and a seventh-round draft pick for a fifth-round draft pick and wide receiver Marcus Johnson. ESPN insider Adam Schefter announced the deal on Wednesday afternoon as the Seahawks are looking to enter into a re-building era.
Some would say the Eagles got a steal from a desperate team. Michael Bennett is a three-time Pro Bowler in the NFL that is heading into his 10th season. The Eagles got some pretty great value out of a veteran end like Chris Long, so why not take a shot on Bennett?
This trade does mean that the Eagles could be moving another lineman, though. They were rumored to be shopping around the slightly overpaid veteran Vinny Curry over the weekend. Considering that Curry had a decent season, it probably won’t be too complicated for the Eagles to find a trade...
