Le'Veon Bell might sit out a game or two according to a teammate

Now that the Pittsburgh Steelers have hit running back Le’Veon Bell with the franchise tag, both sides have some decisions to make about how to proceed. And for Bell, those decisions center on when if ever he signs the franchise tender and when he would finally join his team.

According to NFL Network reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala, one of Bell’s teammates thinks that Bell could skip a game or two if he has to play on the tag.

No one wants to hear speculation like this, especially the Steelers’ front office. At this point, it seems like a longshot that Bell actually plays for the Steelers this season. He made it clear he has no desire to play on the tag again.

But since the two sides couldn’t come together on a contract this is where they are. Pittsburgh was never going to let him onto the open market. There isn’t much time for the Steelers to decide if trading Bell is a better option than forcing his hand and seeing if he will show up and play.
