On Tuesday, rumors that the Golden State Warriors had unanimously decided as a team to skip this year’s customary White House visit as NBA champions went viral, but the team eventually denied that any decision had been made regarding the matter. A few days later, team leader Steph Curry, who has been critical of Trump’s presidency, spoke to the media and told them that he probably wasn’t going to White House later this year.
“Somebody asked me about (going to the White House) a couple of months ago, like a hypothetical, if the championship were to happen would I do it and I think I answered ‘I wouldn’t go’. I still feel like that today,” he said. “But, obviously as a team, we’re going to have a conversation.
In an appearance on the Fox Business Channel,, FS1 host Jason Whitlock called Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors “cowardly and un-American” for simply ignoring the President and not trying to engage him with civil discourse.
