Kansas coach Bill Self ripped his own player Brannen Greene on Wednesday night after Greene dunked the ball home as time expired in a 77-59 Kansas win over Kansas State. Both the Kansas and Kansas State players were shaking hands as time expired when Greene ran up and dunked the ball.
Self was apoplectic, and started his postgame press conference with an apology:
“I’d like to apologize to the K-State team, and their program, coaches, players, for the unsportsmanlike act that one of our players did at the end of the game that was totally classless. I guarantee it’ll never happen again.”
