This Minor League Hockey Goalie’s Save That Eventually Won His Team The Game May Be The Best Of The Year

Matt Keohan, Bro Bible

There’s something to be said for making a no-look save when you’re completely caught out of position and Ray Charles would have little problem putting a shot in the back of the net. There’s a whole other level of props when that save occurs in an overtime game and a loss is hinging on you single-handedly failing to make a miraculous play. Some players tense up during crunch time (See: Blair Walsh) and others turn it up a notch (See: Jeff Lerg).

Jeff Lerg is a 5’6”, 30-year-old goalie for the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL. He made a solid case for save of the year in overtime on Sunday night against the Fort Wayne Komets. His team went on to win the game in overtime.
