Fighting in hockey isn’t all that uncommon, even at the junior (age 16-21) level. What is uncommon, however, is seeing a hockey official get in on the action by throwing some fists of his own. Even more rare is to see a trainer hop off the bench and angrily attack an official after watching the zebra punch a player.
But that’s exactly what played out during a recent London Lakers game in Ontario after players engaged in a heated brawl. Apparently not pleased with the level of cooperation he was receiving from one of the players as he was trying to break up the scuffle, one of the linesmen decided his best course of action would be to enforce some physical justice by shoving the player and then delivering a blow to his head.
