ESPN predicts Jets will sign Kirk Cousins, make playoffs in 2018

Jets fans who are probably still exhaling from Sunday are now starting to look ahead to next season.

ESPN is as well, and they have some bold predictions. A few of them involve the Jets.

Dan Graziano made 10 predictions for next season and the first one is sure to please Gang Green fans — at a steep cost, though.

Graziano is predicting (expected) free agent Kirk Cousins will sign a long-term deal of epic proportions with the Jets. Just how much does he think Cousins will get from New York?

After outbidding the Browns, Jaguars and Bills — no Broncos? — the Jets land Cousins for a whopping $186 million over six years. It will take $100 million in guarantees and $75 million fully guaranteed to get the deal done. Signing on the dotted line would make Cousins the highest-paid player in NFL history.

While those prices are exorbitant, the Jets are expected to have $100 million in cap space this offseason. With the Browns having even more money to work with, a bidding war to end all bidding wars may be required to land...
