Colts officially hire Josh McDaniels
/ Patriots

New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is leaving to be the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, the team announced Tuesday.

McDaniels’s move to the Colts has been in the works, but he has not been able to announce the move with the Patriots still in the playoffs.

The hire means Super Bowl LII will be the last hurrah for McDaniels and the Patriots. He is one of two coordinators leaving — so far. Matt Patricia took the head coaching job with the Detroit Lions. And McDaniels is expected to poach special teams coordinator Joe Judge, according to WEEI’s Kirk Minihane.
