It was made known before his rookie season that Indianapolis Colts linebacker Anthony Walker aspires to be the general manager of a professional team when his career is finished and he used his offseason time to begin that dream.
Though he still has his entire playing career ahead of him, Walker recently took on and completed an internship with the Miami Heat, per Fox Sports.
Walker spent four weeks with the NBA team from South Beach and learned several aspects of the business side of the league. The Northwestern product has said before the aspirations he holds and looked at this as an opportunity to grow.
“For me, it’s about trying to get the other side of sports,” said Walker. “Football’s going to end for me at some point. I want to be able to use the networks I have now to help me in the future for when I do need to find something else to do with my life. And you never know when that’s going to come.”
Walker’s internship ended the Friday before Super Bowl LII and he will soon return to Indianapolis as the offseason heats...
