The 2017 NFL season came and went and it couldn’t have gone much worse for Cowboys fans. A season that began with Super Bowl aspirations ended with drama and disappointment. Meanwhile the Cowboys’ bitter rival in the Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl, which only has heightened the disappointment of the season for Cowboys fans.
The Eagles winning the Super Bowl has raised the question, what did Philadelphia do to win a Super Bowl the Cowboys aren’t doing?
The answer most have come to is the Eagles’ front office were much more aggressive in the 2017 offseason than the Cowboys were.
There is no doubt signing wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, and trading for cornerback Ronald Darby, defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan, and running back Jay Ajayi were all major pieces in winning the Super Bowl for the Eagles. All of those moves worked out very well for the Eagles, and even though it’s causing some salary cap issues in the future, every Eagles fan on the planet would agree they would do each of those moves over again.
Cowboys fans should know the grass isn’t always greener when looking at other aggressive front offices though, and the 2017 Seattle Seahawks are a perfect example of what can go wrong when a team makes big moves in free agency and...
